A Golden Opportunity, A.R.

As I was finishing up my Bachelors of Science degree in Microbiology, I began to seriously contemplate what I would do next with my life. I had several options, namely: to continue my education by entering a master's program, get a job, or go to the Full-Time Training. I was very much before the Lord about what to do next. I wanted to pursue a career in the science field, yet I felt the Lord calling me to give Him some of my time. I had given so many years to my education and other things; I felt the Lord was asking me--“How about giving a couple of years to me?” As my graduation day approached, and it passed, I felt peace within me to do only one thing, and that was to go to the Full-Time Training in Anaheim to be trained.

So by the Lord's mercy and grace He carried me to the Training. And I'm so glad He did. It has been an immense blessing. The classes each day are so rich in the truth, and equally enjoyable. There is not one class in which the Lord fails to pour out His blessing. For me the classes have been the highlight of my training experience. The Bible has been opened to me in such a living way.

To be here in this special and unique environment with young people from all over the world is incredible. Just being with so many young people who have given themselves to pursue after the Lord wholeheartedly and who have consecrated this time in their lives to the Lord to be trained is a delight in and of itself.

I really feel that to come to the Full-Time Training is an opportunity that perhaps may only come once in a lifetime--an opportunity to break my alabaster box and pour it out on the Lord (Mark 14:3), and to willingly give up the precious commodity of my youth. It may be that at no other juncture in my life will I have such a golden opportunity to give my all to the Lord in an environment worthy of my attention, my dear and precious Triune God. It is an opportunity that I'm so grateful the Lord didn't allow me to pass up, and a choice I will never regret.
